In their home opener at Hampton Stadium, the third grade Chiefs were dominant as they defeated the Seaford Vikings by a score of 7-2. The boys lacrosse team’s early season winning record is now 2-0.
All the boys played and participated in the victory and the Chiefs’ offensive was unstoppable as they moved the ball up and down the field at will against the Vikings. Scoring was provided by midfielders Michael O’Connell (4 goals), Matt Sluka (1 goal), Jack Duff (1 goal) and attackman Liam Gormley (1 goal).
Chiefs attackmen Marc Chiappone, Matty O’Connell, Matt Grimm, Joey Ruscillo and Jack O’Brien controlled the ball in the offensive zone, as Midfielders Jason Eccher, Thomas Albig and Darien Lloyd fought hard and beat the Vikings to ground balls to help control offensive possession.
The Chiefs defense again was stifling. Defensemen Dylan Vincenti, Michael Laginestra, Matt Castello, Nicholas Monteforte and Philip Arnold pounded the Vikings as goalie Sean Hembach was solid in net making 7 saves.
