“It’s not too late to register for spring time sports programs offered by the Nassau County Police Activity League,” said Officer Darlene Capobianco, head of the Westbury/Carle Place Unit. The Westbury PAL will continue registering residents for spring sports fun at the Westbury Middle School located at 455 Rockland Street for a nominal fee.
The indoor and outdoor sporting activities including basketball, flag football, judo, karate, soccer, track, tennis and volleyball, begin this month but it’s never too late to get the kids off the couch and onto the field for the health of it! Kids will have loads of fun making new friends while enjoying physical activity through organized competitive sport. Swimming, lacrosse, fencing and bowling are coming soon.
The Nassau County P.A.L. serves children ages 5 though 18 years old. The sports activities will take place at a designated school in Westbury and Carle Place including the Park Avenue, Drexel Avenue and Powell’s Lane elementary schools, Westbury Middle School or at Carle Place’s Cherry Lane Elementary School; horseback riding is scheduled to take place at the Indian Head Ranch in Huntington.
