The Westbury Wolverines Football, Cheerleading and Dance teams held their first Awards Banquet recently at the Papa Razzi Restaurant. The event was a huge success, with the turnout exceeding well over 100 guests celebrating the Wolverines’ successful football season!
Coaches Andrew and Melissa Stewart would like to congratulate the players and the cheerleaders on receiving their awards and they would like to offer a heartfelt thanks to all of those who attended, including parents, relatives and friends, and shared in the festivities.
Special thanks to the players and cheerleaders, Westbury School Board President Karin Campbell – who stopped by to show her support for the team, and keynote speakers, actor Kene Holliday from the popular television shows Matlock and Law & Order, and Nassau County District Court Judge Tricia Ferrell who discussed the advantages of how the combination of hard work and education can lead to success. Nassau County Legislator Robert Troiano also stopped by to greet the players and their guests one table at a time to encourage the youth, greet their families and to wish the Wolverines continued success.
In his speech, Wolverines coach and founder Andrew Stewart said, “Thank you to all of our invited guests and presenters! We look forward to another successful year.” He also thanked “Papa Razzi for a wonderful meal, fantastic service in a beautiful atmosphere!”
