The Carle Place Board of Education, along with special guest New York State Senator Jack Martins, recognized the Carle Place High School boys varsity soccer team as the 2013 New York State Class B champions at their Jan. 23 meeting. Parents and team supporters looked on as Board President Barry Dennis introduced coach Allen Foraker, who began the evening with a few sentiments congratulating the athletes.
“I know you have heard me speak about this team many times before, but I want to once again thank everyone for the tremendous support,” said Foraker. “It has been an incredible experience.”
Next, Martins presented the team with certificates of recognition to commemorate their outstanding achievement.
“The accomplishments of these fine young men say a lot about Carle Place High School, the district and the community,” said Martins. “It is not just about how well they’ve done in their academics, but it’s also about how well their schools have prepared them for college and careers. They are a perfect example of the complete package.”
Carle Place Superintendent of Schools David Flatley took a moment to recognize Dylan Klein, who was named a 2013 NSCAA All-American player, an All-Region player, All-State Team player, Conference Player of the Year and Jim Steen/County Player of the Year. Upon graduation, Klein will be attending Hofstra University.
