Runners, walkers and wheelchair athletes from Westbury and all over the New York Metropolitan area are cordially invited to join in the fun on Saturday, Nov. 23, for the sixth annual Blazing Trails 4 Autism 4 Mile Run & Walk.
This year’s event will feature a new and exciting USA Track and Field certified four mile course that will begin and end at the new home of the Eden II Genesis School at St. Raphael Parish at 600 Newbridge Road in East Meadow. The
starting horn will go off promptly at 9:30 a.m.
The net proceeds of the event go to the Eden II and Genesis Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to providing much needed funds for programs and services that support individuals with autism, including The Genesis School, newly located at St. Raphael.
The Blazing Trails title sponsor is Men on the Move, the award winning local, long distance and international moving and self storage company. The Run is sanctioned and the course is certified by USA Track & Field, and will once again be coordinated by the Greater Long Island Running Club, with scoring and timing by JMS Racing Services utilizing the RFID Ultra Timing System, with the timing chip built right into the bib number.
Food and beverages will be available at the finish line for all participants, along with great raffle drawings. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each of 16 age groups, from 12 and under through 85 plus, plus two divisions of the Clydesdale Men and Athena Women.
