Relay For Life Paints Carle Place Purple

Recently, members of the Carle Place women’s track and field team, the National Junior Honor Society and Girl Scout Troop 3096, as well as other community residents, helped promote Relay for Life by painting Carle Place purple. “Paint the Town Purple” is an initiative to spread the word about Relay for Life and pump up the community’s excitement since the event is only weeks away.

Help spread the word and continue painting the town purple. The Relay for Life team offered some suggestions to spread the word and raise money: decorate the outside of your house (change your outdoor light to purple, put purple ribbon on doors and trees, put out purple flowers), wear purple, give out or sell purple cookies, display purple in your windows, host a purple party, decorate your classroom or office, decorate your car, paint something purple or put up signs.

The country western-themed Relay for Life of Carle Place will take place Saturday, June 9 at the CPHS track from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Proceeds from the event will help with cancer research, wig creation and patient support from the American Cancer Society.  Find out more information about the event, donate, join or start a team at www.relayforlife.org/carleplaceny.
