Island Harvest, Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization, will host its 15th Annual Golf Classic at one of the region’s premier golf courses, The Creek Club in Locust Valley. To be held on Thursday, Aug. 4, the fundraising event will honor Long Island businessman Stephen McDermott, a resident of East Meadow who assisted Island Harvest in securing a new 24,000 square foot warehouse, serves on several committees and was a panelist at Island Harvest’s 2010 Hunger Summit.
McDermott is the CEO and chairman of Hauppauge-based Professional Merchant Advance Capital, LLC (ProMAC), a company he founded in 2007. ProMAC provides alternative financing for the healthcare and business services sectors. Before ProMAC, he co-founded Newpoint Advisors, Doctors Care Network (DCN), and Pinecrest National Funding, LLC, as well as founding Stamford Capital Partners where he also served as CEO. In all, McDermott has over 20 years of investment banking and private equity sales experience in the technology, healthcare, biotech, and real estate lending industries.

The Golf Classic will begin at 10:30 a.m. with brunch and registration, followed by a noon shotgun start and will conclude with a highly popular beach party and awards celebration at 5:30 p.m. Golf registration including the beach party is $800 per player, $3,200.00 for a foursome. To attend just the beach party at 5:30 p.m., tickets are $150 per person. As in the past, there will be some great prizes to be auctioned off at the beach party including a round of golf at some of the area’s most exclusive courses, New York-area sports teams’ memorabilia and sporting event tickets, gift certificates from some of LI’s leading restaurants, vacation trips, great merchandise and much more.
