On behalf of the entire Westbury \Village family, I want to express my deep concern and sorrow for the tragic events that have occurred in Haiti these past days.
Westbury is the home of a sizeable Haitian community, and each and every one of those families has certainly been affected directly or indirectly by the earthquake and subsequent events in Haiti. Many still have family, friends and loved ones with whom they have not been able to communicate.
My family joins with all residents of Westbury in praying for meaningful and immediate relief efforts to relieve some of the disruption, destruction, dislocation and loss that has occurred there. We also pray for those who have perished, their families and friends.
We encourage all residents of Westbury to consider helping the relief efforts in their own way through one or more of the relief agencies that are responding to the disaster, including the Red Cross, UNICEF or other appropriate charities. I know that the religious institutions in Westbury will be taking part in special collections and other relief efforts as well.
Let us all join together and pray for those who have been lost, and those who have loved ones who are in Haiti at this time.
