I have a problem with Thomas Liotti and others who use cute phrases such as undocumented immigrants.
First of all they’re illegal aliens and should be treated as such. What part of illegal don’t these people get. You couldn’t get away with what these people do here if we were illegal in their country. You would be jailed, fined and deported.
The reasons some states resort to these tactics such as denying licenses and fining contractors for hiring illegals is because they’re overrun by illegal aliens. In certain parts of Arizona the drug cartel has penetrated miles into our border. There are signs warning the locals to not venture into the area. Border agents are routinely shot at and long lines of illegals trample through the property of law-abiding citizens.
Mr. Liotti would like you to believe if we followed Brazil’s lead we would solve all our problems. Here’s an idea: why don’t the illegals follow Brazil’s lead back in their own homeland solving their own problem. We have enough problems here and with the present economy we cannot sustain the massive influx of illegal aliens. I have no problem with legal immigration.
Yes, immigrants are hard-working people but that is not the issue. Until you secure the borders every issue is off the table. If you legitimize the 15 million that are here now what are you going to do when the next 15 million sneak in?
