Florence Elizabeth Butts Clark, at the age of 80, went to her eternal resting place on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at 12:30 a.m. at home in Greensboro, North Carolina. Florence was born on May 4, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York. Florence and the late Rudolph H. Clark, Sr. were longtime residents of Westbury Hills. Their sons, Rudolph “Rudy” Clark, Jr. and Dr. Steven Clark were students in the local school system. Florence was an active and passionate member of the community. She worked as a teacher and guidance counselor for the NYC Board of Education before her retirement. Her three passions were playing bridge (diamond level champion), swimming, and gardening. In 2007, Florence relocated to Greensboro from Westbury to be near her son, Rudy. She is survived by her brother Charles (wife Arlene) of Brooklyn, New York. Florence leaves to carry on a legacy of education and family values, two sons – Rudy H. Clark, Jr. (wife Michelle) of Greensboro, NC and Dr. Steven Clark (wife Thanh) of Carmel, IN. She was Nana to her six grandchildren – Aaron, William, Gregory, Sydney, Benjamin, and Sophia.
