It seems like there is always some sort of special occasion sprouting up. Between holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, and parties, we are always busy shopping for a pleasant gift to give. Flowers speak the perfect combination of pride and enthusiasm, and at San Giorgio Florist and Garden Shop, the array of choices will leave you speechless.
Owner since 2004, Joe Reider said the original San Giorgio owner bought a florist shop on Glen Cove Road. When that shop closed, he brought all their flowers, customers, and solid customer service skills to Westbury Avenue and opened San Giorgio.
Located in the heart of Carle Place, San Giorgio is a full-service florist providing the community with fresh flowers, tropicals, and garden plants for all occasions. “We do a lot of wedding and party work,” explained Reider, describing the beautiful and elaborate flower arrangements that San Giorgio can create. Friendship Day recently passed on August 4 and this florist made bright, cheerful arrangements for friends, old and new, to share and celebrate.
“Our Be Happy bouquet is one of our most popular arrangements,” said Reider. A yellow vase with a smiley face is host to vibrant yellow roses and white daisies that have the ability to cheer up anyone’s day. The How Sweet It Is arrangement comes in a clear vase with bright orange, pink, and green plant life pouring out of it. A purple vase with a dark bow is part of a special lover’s gift that is filled with dark, romantic shades of pink and purple.
Get Well, Thank You, New Baby, and Sympathy are among other pre-set arrangements that this full-service florist offers, but customers are also welcome to create their own custom arrangements. “When customers have a specific need, they can come to the store and we will make them whatever it is that they need,” said Reider.
While most people love admiring a gorgeous bouquet of flowers in their home, San Giorgio also has an extensive line of other giftware available complete with candles, greeting cards, and gift baskets to complement the fresh flowers. “We carry all types of artificial wreaths, picture frames, religious items, and we just built up our wedding and party display,” said Reider. Loyal to their diehard fans, San Giorgio also carries all different sorts of frog items, the Carle Place mascot.
A small, personal shop, Reider explained that the employees at San Giorgio pride themselves on the close, personalized service they are able to give to each customer. Shopping at San Giorgio is a pleasant experience where customers receive plenty of help and guidance, if needed, to find or create exactly what they had in mind.
Whether you are looking for a single red rose or a high-style floral arrangement, San Giorgio Florist and Garden Shop has an extensive list from which to choose. But see for yourself! Flower arrangements are always on display and when entering the shop, the smell alone will make you fall in love. They are located at 472 Westbury Avenue in Carle Place.
