Diamond lovers — start saving now.
Construction is currently underway for a new Jared the Galleria of Jewelry, which is expected to open on Old Country Road later this year.
The Apple Savings Bank building which was previously in that location has been demolished to make way for the new 6,000-square-foot jewelry showroom. According to parent company Signet Jewelers, each Jared store has an on-site design and repair center, can mount loose diamonds in settings, and can provide a custom design service. Stores also typically feature one diamond-viewing room and a children’s play area. The store will create about two dozen new jobs.
“Its location directly across the street from Roosevelt Field Mall makes it a natural fit in terms of meeting the jewelry needs of consumers in the greater Long Island area,” said Ann Marie Patton, Jared’s divisional vice president.
The only other Jared location on Long Island is in Lake Grove. Unlike competitors like Kay Jewelers or Zales, which operate out of malls or shopping centers, Jared locations are stand-alone. The chain has opened more than 190 stores in 39 states since opening in 1993. The Carle Place location is set to open in time for the holiday shopping season.
