Canadian cellist Soo Bae, winner of the 2005 Concert Artists Guild International Competition, will perform at the East Meadow Library at 2 p.m. Bae will replace soprano Sarah Wolfson who had to cancel her performance. In 2006, the Canada Council of the Arts awarded her first prize in its Instrument Bank Competition, resulting in a three-year loan of the ca. 1696 Bonjour Stradivari cello. The popular Otto the Ghost, appearing in person and in the free animated story Otto’s Green Halloween, in which the little ghost learns simple ways to help the earth through recycling and reusing. Hicks asks visitors to bring a nonperishable food item. All the food collected will be donated to Long Island Cares to benefit hungry people on Long Island.
