February 6

Board of Trustees Public Meeting

The Westbury Village Board of Trustees will hold its monthly public meeting at Village Hall, 235 Lincoln Place, at 7:30 p.m. At the meeting the board will hold a public hearing to consider a proposed local law prohibiting overnight parking in the village. 

 

Forum for Replacement District 2 County Legislator

The League of Women Voters (LWV) will host a forum for the two candidates vying for the District 2 Nassau County Legislator seat.  Candidates Siela Bynoe and Pepitz Blanchard will each explain why they think LD 2 residents should vote for them. It will be held at the Ethical Humanist Society, 38 Old Country Road in Garden City from 7 to 9 p.m. 

 

Galactic and Ryan Montbleau

Card Party and Game Night

Westbury SEPTA will be holding its 25th annual card party and game night auction. Admission is $6, which includes five bids. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the auction begins at 8 p.m. There will be door prizes, games, refreshments and fun. Children must be accompanied by a parent, and attendees are invited to bring their favorite game. The event will be held at Westbury Middle School, at 455 Rockland Street. NAACP Long Island Region Luncheon

The Westbury Branch of the NAACP will honor Mrs. Mildred Little at the 10th annual NAACP Awards luncheon from noon to 3 p.m. at the Crest Hollow Country Club.  The event will be hosted by WBLS Personality “Shaila”. The Guest speaker will be Rev. Dr. A. R. Bernard of the Christian Cultural Center. Shepherd’s Singers

The Shepherd’s Singers will present a gospel concert — African American history in song — at Westbury United Methodist Church, 265 Asbury Ave. At 4 p.m. All are welcome.
