For the second year in a row, the Westbury Film Concert returns to Piazza Ernesto Strada for an outdoor viewing of award-winning short films selected from the world’s top film festivals. Please bring a beach or folding chair and get ready for an evening of great entertainment. The Maria SS. Dell’Assunta Society proudly presents the 103rd annual Feast of the Assumption. Health Fair 

Learn more about how technology impacts health care, transportation, home construction, safety, fitness, socialization and other areas of concern for Long Islanders who want to remain in their homes as they grow older. See over 60 exhibitors, learn from technology demonstrations, and participate in group presentations. Transportation is available from various locations throughout the Town of North Hempstead. Free lunch vouchers for the first 500 attendees. Space is limited so register by call 311 or 516-869-6311. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the “Yes We Can” Community Center at 141 Garden Street in Westbury.

Long Island Scottish Festival

The Long Island Scottish Festival,a perennial favorite among Scots and non-Scots alike for over 50 years, is once again returning to Old Westbury Gardens. Guests can enjoy the Highland Games such as caber toss, putting the stone and tossing the sheaf. Other festival highlights include concerts featuring Scottish/Celtic music and dance, pirate shows,a British auto exhibit, and kids events such as face painting and puppet shows. Guests can also enjoy traditional fare such as fish and chips and meat pies. General admission is $15, seniors $12, ages 7-17 (youth) $7 and those six and under attend free. From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

New Cassel Farmers’ Market is an investment in yourself, your family, and your community. Our market provides farm-fresh, local produce to customers at an affordable price and acts as a gathering place where neighbors can come together, share recipes, watch a cooking demonstration and enjoy fun activities and events for the entire family. New Cassel Farmers’ Market, operated by Unified New Cassel Community Revitalization Corp., is open every Saturday through November 23 from 11 – 4 p.m. or until sold out in the parking lot of First Baptist Cathedral located at 212 Garden Street, Westbury.
