On Tuesday, Dec. 9, residents will take to the polls. Carle Place residents will be asked to vote for library board trustee and water district and sanitation commissioner while East Meadow residents will be casting their vote for fire commissioner. The respective elections and candidates, along with times and locations, are as follows: Joanne Del Vecchio is seeking re-election, unopposed, to another three-year term as commissioner of the Carle Place Garbage District. Elections will take place from 4 to 9 p.m. in the Carle Place Middle School Library along with elections for trustee of the Carle Place Public Library Funding District and commissioner of the Carle Place Water District. Current trustee Michael Fitzgerald is not seeking re-election. Trustees terms are five years. Lawrence Zaino Jr. is seeking re-election, unopposed, to a second three-year term as commissioner of the Carle Place Water District. Elections will take place from 4 to 9 p.m. in the Carle Place Middle School Library along with elections for commissioner of the Carle Place Garbage District and trustee of the Carle Place Public Library Funding District.
