The holidays are a time of sharing and remembering those who are less fortunate. Assemblyman Tom McKevitt (R,C,I - East Meadow) is reminding us that it is important to get involved in activities such as Coats for Kids, that will provide children with warm coats for the upcoming cold months.

"Whether you are a community member or a political leader, such as myself, giving back to your community is something that I truly believe in. We can all work together this year to help those around us, and ensure that everybody is healthy and warm," McKevitt said.

According to the assemblyman, Coats for Kids is a great project that collects and distributes coats to children and teenagers that need them. It provides a great way for the community to become closer and to shed light on those who need help.

"Those who wish to participate can drop off any extra gently used coats that they may have, to my district office which is located at: 224 Seventh Street, 2nd Floor, Garden City. The ending collection day will be Dec. 15. We would be more than grateful for any donations that come our way."

"Tis' the season," to start gathering up any toys that you would like to donate for underprivileged children. Assemblyman Tom McKevitt (R,C,I - East Meadow) is sponsoring Toys For Tots this year and hoping that all are willing to share with the community.

"Toys For Tots is a great project which I love to participate in. It helps give presents to kids who may not be as fortunate. Everyone deserves a little holiday cheer and this is a great way to support our community," McKevitt stated.

Toys For Tots helps to show kids how they can give back and share with other children as well. During the holiday season it is important to remember other families and members of the community who are struggling and need support. Toys For Tots delivers a message of hope and caring to the kids around us. "With the help of our community members we can ensure a festive and shining holiday season."

All donations are welcomed through Dec. 15; a donation box will be located in McKevitt's district office, which is located at 224 Seventh Street, 2nd Floor, Garden City.

"This season, let's all work together to make sure that everyone has a great holiday and that no one is left out. The holidays are a time of giving and love. I am more than happy to be affiliated with Toys For Tots, and will do all that I can to provide a happy and healthy holiday season to my constituents," said the assemblyman.
