Third Squad detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred on Friday, Sept. 5 at 1:12 p.m. in Westbury.

Police are seeking a male that fits this description in connection with a robbery and shooting in Westbury on Sept. 5.

According to police, a 69-year-old man, while working as a clerk at Country Road Stationary Store on Old Country Road, was shot in the lower abdomen during a robbery. The victim alleges that an unknown black male wearing black shorts, a black T-shirt and a black do-rag, entered the store and threatened the clerk with a handgun and demanded money. Police report that the suspect shot the victim then took the money and fled the store on foot in an unknown direction. The aided was taken to an area hospital where he is listed in serious condition.
