The New York Arm Wrestling Association and Long Island Clan Mac Duff have joined forces to present the 30th Annual Long Island Golden Arm Wrestling Championships, which will be held Saturday, Aug. 23 at 1 p.m. at the 48th Annual Long Island Scottish Games Festival at 71 Old Westbury Gardens, Old Westbury.
The entry fee is $15 for amateurs; $20 for pros. Contestants are asked to register and weigh-in early. The final matches will take place at 3:30 p.m. on the main stage in front of a loud-rooting captive audience. Contestants under 18 must have a parent or guardian signed approval. Spectators and contestants general admission is as follows: $12 adults, $10 seniors over 62, $6 children 7-12 and free for children under 7. Parking is included. Gates open at 8 a.m.

Over 100 men and women are expected to compete for Long Island's Golden Arm Wrestling Championship titles and the overall male and female winners will be crowned Long Island's Strongest Arm. There are 12 weight classes in pro, amateur and novice categories will be available for men, women and teens.
There are no residency requirements and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place award winners qualify to compete at the Empire State 'Golden Arm' Tournament of Champions Final at the Port Authority Bus Terminal Nov. 1.

The New York 'Golden Arm' Series consists of six preliminary championships and the final. Events are held in each of the five NYC Boroughs, Long Island and upstate New York. The NYAWA is a New York State registered not-for-profit organization celebrating its 31st year anniversary.
