Election for the Westbury Board of Education will take place Tuesday, May 20. At this time, incumbent Adelaide Brinson is seeking re-election; current trustee Connie LoCascio chose not to run. On April 15, two students from Westbury Okinawan Karate successfully tested for their Junior Blackbelt at an associated dojo in Hicksville. Franklin Rodriguez and Quentin Abram of the Westbury dojo joined other students from the Hicksville and Little Neck dojos to become the second and third students from Westbury to reach the Junior Blackbelt rank. Event to Benefit the March of Dimes -- On Sunday, May 18, motorcyclists will join Dee Snider (radio personality and lead singer of Twisted Sister) and the March of Dimes in the fight against premature birth at Dee Snider's 6th Annual Bikers for Babies Ride.
