The Third Squad reports the details of a robbery that occurred in New Cassel on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 8:10 a.m.

According to detectives, two subjects, both armed with handguns, allegedly pushed their way into the check-cashing company Checkmaster on Prospect Avenue as it was opening for business. Once inside, the subjects allegedly struck the two female employees, ages 31 and 69, with their handguns and kicked them as they lay on the floor. One subject, according to police, stood over the victims while the second went into a safe and removed an undetermined amount of U.S. currency. Both subjects then fled on foot and were last seen walking eastbound on Prospect Avenue in the vicinity of East Broadway.

Both subjects are described as black males wearing hooded sweat shirts. Both victims were transported to Nassau University Medical Center. The 31-year-old victim was treated and released and the 69-year-old victim was admitted for treatment of injuries to her head, face and abdomen.
