June 9-10 Event to Benefit AFSP --
In June, Carle Place native Susan Goode will embark on a 20-mile walk to raise funds and awareness for suicide prevention, education and research programs and in support of the survivors of suicide loss. Goode, who currently resides in Oyster Bay, will walk, from sunrise to sunset, in the first-ever New York-based Out of the Darkness Overnight to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and honor the memory of her late sister.

The Friedberg Jewish Community Center will host its annual "Walk to Help the Sun Rise for Children with Cancer" on Sunday, June 3 at the Henry Kaufman Campgrounds in Wheatley Heights.
