On May 15, residents of the Westbury School District rejected the 2007-2008 spending plan of $91,529,449. A total of 677 residents voted down the 7.3 budget-to-budget increase while 549 voted in favor of it.

On May 15, residents of the Carle Place School District voted 696 to 337 in favor of the district's $40,803,990 spending plan (Proposition #1) for 2007-2008. The budget reflects a 5.95 percent or a $2,085,620 increase over the current year's budget of $36,425,734.

Westbury Okinawa Karate April Testing
Westbury Okinawan Karate, which is offered by the Westbury Recreation Department, had another formal test and party. It was held on Monday, April 30. All students that met the attendance requirement and proficiency of the skills that were required were tested. The following students passed their test and were advanced to the next belt level:
