Bank Robbery Suspect Sought
The Robbery Squad is seeking the public's help in tracking down a bank robbery suspect believed responsible for some 12 incidents in Nassau County. According to police, the suspect commits bank robberies during the hours of 9:20 a.m. and 2:40 p.m. and all the robberies involve the passing of a robbery demand note. The subject then flees on foot; no vehicles have been observed thus far.

Westbury Village Election Results
Westbury Village elections took place March 20 and all four seats were uncontested. Peter Cavallaro was re-elected having received 305 votes, and Steve Corte, who ran for the seat vacated by Paul Echausse, received 318 votes. Both Cavallaro and Corte will serve four-year trustee terms. William Wise, who was appointed to the board last year to fill the seat vacated with the passing of Charles Russell, received 310 votes and will serve the remaining two years on the trustee seat. In addition, Thomas Liotti was re-elected to a five-year term as village justice with 186 votes. There were also two writeins, each receiving two votes apiece.

NYIT Student Athletes Continue Winning Tradition
New York Institute of Technology's (NYIT) Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), in collaboration with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and other college campus Division II SAACs, is sponsoring "Links of Love," a national fundraiser to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

NUMC Awarded $103K Grant for Being Beneficiary of 2006 EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women
Arthur A. Gianelli, president/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation (NHCC), received notification from the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) President Lisa Paulsen, that the Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) had been awarded a $103,253 grant as a result of being a beneficiary of the 2006 EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women.
