Debut Novel Focuses on Personal Experiences
Westbury resident Kari Caulfield has made one of her dreams come true with the recent release of her self-published debut novel Pretty Blue. The author and practicing attorney used her experiences with being adopted to write this tale about one adopted woman's journey to reunite with her birth mother.

Michelle Schimel Seeks State Seat
"I'm excited; in the sum total of my life experiences, all roads lead to Albany," Michelle Schimel told Anton Newspapers last week she kicked off her campaign as the Democratic Party's choice for New York State's 16th Assembly District. Schimel is running for the seat recently vacated by fellow Great Neck resident Tom DiNapoli who was appointed New York State Comrptoller. Schimel is currently North Hempstead town clerk, an elected position she has held for the past eight years.

NYIT’s Jack Kaley, Coach of the Year
FieldTurf Tarkett, manufacturers of the patented FieldTurf synthetic sports turf, announced the winners of its inaugural NCAA Lacrosse Coach of the Year awards for 2006, and New York Institute of Technology's (NYIT) Head Coach Jack Kaley, a resident of Westbury, earned the top honor for Division II men's lacrosse. Award winners were named in all three divisions for mens and womens lacrosse.
