TNH Building Inspector Andrew Acierno Arrested
It is alleged that on six different occasions - from November 2004 to October 2005 - Acierno forged the name of licensed architect Andrew Corva and submitted drawings for new construction to the town as well as fraudulently used Corva's name on building permit applications for two residences - one on Beverly Drive in Alberston and another on Old Powerhouse Road in Roslyn Heights.

EXCEL Grant Referendum Approved
Residents of the Westbury School District voted 333-89 in favor of the EXCEL grant. EXCEL (Expanding our Children's Education and Learning), is a statewide program designed to help public school districts fund construction projects at no cost to the local property taxpayers. The initiative is funded by the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) through the issuance of $2.65 billion in tax-exempt bonds. The innovative funding source will help ease overcrowded classrooms as well as provide relief to the district's taxpayers.
