Elections for commissioners of the Carle Place Water District, Westbury Water and Fire District and the East Meadow Fire District will take place Tuesday, Dec. 12. Voting information is as follows:
In Carle Place, elections will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at 460 Broadway. At this time, three seats are up for re-election with all three incumbents running unopposed.
Joseph M. Passariello, current water district chairman, is seeking re-election to a three-year term commencing Jan. 1, 2007 through Dec. 31, 2009. Lawrence F. Zaino, Jr., who was appointed in January by the North Hempstead Town Board, is seeking election to the remainder of the late Richard Bruckner's term. If elected, Zaino will serve from Jan. 1, 2007 through Dec. 31, 2008. Timothy E. Stellato was appointed by the North Hempstead Town Board in January 2006 to fill the remainder of the late Robert T. Heller's seat. If elected, Stellato will serve from Jan. 1, 2007 to Dec. 31, 2007.
In Westbury, current water-fire commissioner Robert Culbert is running unopposed to a three-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2007 through Dec. 31, 2009. Elections will take place from 2 to 9 p.m. at 355 Maple Avenue.
In East Meadow, incumbent commissioner James Surless is being challenged by Michael Finnegan for a five-year term. In addition, treasurer Raymond L'Hommedieu is seeking re-election unopposed. Voting will take place from 1` to 9 p.m.. Residents living south of Hempstead Turnpike vote at headquarters, 197 East Meadow Avenue, while those living north vote at Station #3 located at Newbridge Road and Carnation.
