In their final regular season game, the Mineola PAL Chiefs 9-year-old team went on the road and beat the Floral Park Titans 14-6. With the victory the Chiefs record finished at 5-2-1, and made them eligible for the playoffs. This is a first for the Mineola Chiefs Organization in over a decade.

The Chiefs were able to move the ball on offense because of great sound blocking by the offensive line centered by Gavin Dowd and anchored by Michael Delio, Lucas Golon, Andrew Hastings, James Gertsner and Dominic Paggi. The line gave time so quarterback Thomas O'Connell could work his magic leading the offense with running backs Andrew Cunningham and Ryan Eccher. Scoring is summarized below:

• Teddy Capsis: 3-yard touchdown run

• Thomas O'Connell: extra-point run

• Teddy Capsis: 6-yard touchdown run

• Thomas O'Connell: extra-point pass to Michael Patalano

The Chiefs defense held strong against the Titans offense. The defensive line kept the pressure on led by Brian Smith, Michael Patalano, Niam Smith and Teddy Capsis. The linebackers were fearless and attacked the ball with reckless abandonment, led by O'Connell, Cunningham, Kyle Facibene, Thomas Davis and Kyle Spruill.
