Peter worked for Grumman Corporation, the LI Railroad and then Douglas Elliman/Milford Management. He specialized as director of procurement which led him to New York City to work for the Trump Organization. Later he worked in Houston for Stanford Financial, where he took great pleasure in being a fair but prudent consumer on his employer's behalf.
Peter was a loving son, loyal brother and devoted husband and stepfather. He cherished the time he spent with family and friends and was a gracious and considerate gentleman. Friends and family could always depend on Pete. We are unable to count how often he said, "What can I do to help you?" He was a worker, a helper, a thinker and a person of good will. Peter will be remembered and loved forever.
Peter is survived by his wife, April Allen; stepson, Tristan Allen; mother, Ruth Wakeman; sister, Ann Marie McMichael and husband, Jerry; brother-in-law, Noel Allen and wife, Rebecca; niece, Elizabeth Grace Allen and numerous other family.
A memorial service and rosary was held Sunday, Oct. 29 in Houston. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in the name of Peter R. Strada be made to North Shore Animal League.
