The North Hempstead Town Board postponed its Oct. 24 public hearing regarding a request for a zoning change to the property located at the site of the former Nassau BOCES building on Westbury Avenue in Carle Place. The owners of the property have requested the zoning change to allow construction of housing for seniors aged 62 and above to be built. The hearing was postponed to provide time for information about the impact the change in zoning would have on traffic and tax revenues to be updated and disseminated to area residents.

The 27th Annual Carle Place Civic Association's Fun Run/Walk Day, which took place this year on Oct. 22, featured many walkers and runners. There were also many observers along the way and at the finish line.
