This season, the Westbury Amateur Baseball Association (WABA) 9- and 10-year-old teams had the opportunity to play "under the lights" and on the AstroTurf at John Walker Memorial Park in Hicksville.

For most of the players this was a very exciting event since it was their first game played at night and on AstroTurf. After attending WABA's opening day festivities in April, New York State Assemblyman Rob Walker extended an invitation to the Westbury Little League players, made all of the arrangements, and personally attended both games. The players played their hearts out on both nights and their families really enjoyed the game, the warm welcome and the wonderful facilities.

Walker continues his support of the WABA Little League and has made arrangements to help WABA begin renovations of the seniors field at

Walker Park. On June 19, contractors began working on the much needed repairs.

WABA is grateful for the continued support from Assemblyman Walker.
