Attorney: Legal Fees Accrued in Legislative Battle Still Not Paid
Attorney Fred Brewington has moved forth with a lawsuit against Nassau County, its attorney and 19-member legislature. In his suit, filed July 18 with New York State Supreme Court, Brewington is seeking $100,000 in damages, charging breach of contract, fraud, violation of fair labor practices and racial discrimination.

Joe King Applauded by Wheelchair Athletes
Among the highlights during the Awards Ceremony of the June 25 Nick Katsounis Memorial Wheelchair Championship 10 Kilometer Race was the presentation of a special award to Westbury resident Joe King, CEO of Antun's Caterers in Queens Village. For the past several years, Antun's has been the lead sponsor of the race, and King has been one of the keystones of the race committee that stages the event.

Cox Takes Gold in 400 Meter Dash
Shana Cox of Westbury, a student at Penn State, won the gold medal in the 400 meter dash in 51.15 seconds at the North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) U-23 Track and Field Championships, which took place July 7 through July 9.
