Lionel Harvey Being Elevated to Office of Bishop
Bishop H. Eugene Bellinger, presiding prelate of the Cathedral of the Covenant Ministries Inc. of Columbus, OH and chief consecrator, has announced the Orders of Episcopal Consecration of Bishop-elect Lionel Harvey, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Westbury. The service of consecration will take place May 20 at Zion Cathedral Church of God in Christ in Freeport at 1 p.m. and all are welcome to attend. In addition, a Consecration Banquet Service will take place on May 19 at the Sands Caterers in Atlantic Beach.

CD Storeowner Arrested for Counterfeiting CDs
Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice announced that West Hempstead resident Alvaro Arroyo, 41, was arrested and charged with advertisement or sale of unauthorized recordings - 2nd degree, a Class E felony. Arroyo owned and operated La Feria Musical Multi Service, a music store located at 477 Maple Avenue in Westbury. The store primarily sells Latin CDs and music videos.

Chiefs 3rd Grade Boys Victorious Over Hawks
Fresh off a big win over Manhasset, the Mineola PAL Chiefs third grade boys lacrosse team continued to roll as they beat the Farmingdale Hawks April 30 at Hampton Stadium. This victory brought the Chiefs' record to 2-1.
