Status of Prospect Avenue Revitalization Discussed
With the first of a half dozen revitalization projects planned for Prospect Avenue expected to be complete by summer's end, North Hempstead Town and its Community Development Agency (CDA) held a public meeting March 30 to discuss the progress and status of what began nearly four years ago as the New Cassel Vision Plan.
Murder Two for Man Who Killed New Cassel Woman
Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice announced that 35-year-old Marlon Fann of Corona, Queens was sentenced March 29 by Judge David Sullivan to 23 years to life for the June 2005 killing of his former girlfriend, Merline Port-Louis. In December, Fann pleaded guilty to murder - 2nd degree, a Class A felony.
Marcum & Kliegman Long Island Workplace Challenge July 25
Marcum & Kliegman LLP, Long Island's largest accounting and consulting firm, has assumed the title sponsorship of the 2006 "Marcum & Kliegman Long Island Workplace Challenge." This event will be taking the place of the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge, which had been Long Island's largest participatory sports event for the past two decades. The event is a 3.5-mile road run/fun walk, in which employers from across the Island enter and compete with teams of their employees.
