At the Westbury School District's December board of education meeting Westbury High School's Soccer Coach Christopher Valentini was recognized by Conference ABC2 as Soccer Coach of the Year. Valentini was presented his certificate by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Constance Clark in front of the community.
"Coach Valentini has played a crucial role in developing Westbury's soccer program over the past few years and has really made a difference in the lives of the players that he has coached," stated Clark. "Coach Valentini has not only improved the children's soccer skills but he has helped build their sense of pride, team work, and respect, which truly makes our soccer team champions."
The Westbury High School soccer team has received several sportsmanship awards under the supervision of Coach Valentini. The Westbury Public Schools Athletic Program provides a variety of experiences for the development of sports skills, physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship and respect for others that prepare students for success upon graduation.
