Moroney Questions Troiano's Adjournment, Wants Campaign Sign Removed
Republican North Hempstead Town Council District 1 candidate Francis X. Moroney says the sign on incumbent Councilman Robert Troiano's 421-423 Grand Boulevard property in New Cassel listing the Democratic ticket he is running on - Jon Kaiman for supervisor, Michelle Schimel for town clerk, Sharon Commissiong for Nassau County district judge, and Troiano for councilman - should be removed. Moroney said it is "a perfect example of political back-scratching" because Commissiong was the judge who granted a two-month adjournment in the town's housing code violation lawsuit against Troiano for the property the sign is on. "He is receiving preferential treatment and that's wrong," said Moroney, who also said the sign was erected soon after the adjournment.
