Council Candidate Accuses Incumbent of Violating Town Code
Carle Place resident Frank Moroney is calling upon the town to immediately investigate alleged town code violations by current North Hempstead District 1 Councilman Robert Troiano. Moroney, a Republican running against Democrat Troiano for the council seat this November, announced at an Aug. 2 press conference that the councilman is in violation of four town codes, including failing to complete town-required paperwork to legally rent out his New Cassel home. As a result, Moroney is requesting that North Hempstead's code enforcement officers investigate alleged code violations by Troiano and that the Nassau District Attorney's Office monitor the investigation to ensure that proper procedure is followed and no preferential treatment is afforded the councilman.

Over 40 Summonses Issued in Carle Place, New Cassel
North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman and Councilman Robert Troiano joined the town's Department of Public Safety and officers from Nassau County Police Department's 3rd Precinct and Highway Patrol on Aug. 1 in a continued effort to crack down on illegal truck traffic through residential streets in Carle Place and New Cassel.

Boys Basketball Camp to Feature Paul Hewitt
Coach Mike Jackson will present the "Bunky" Reid All-Stars Boys Basketball Camp 2005 featuring special guest and former Westbury resident Paul Hewitt of Georgia Tech University. The seven-day camp will take place Monday, Aug. 22 through Friday, Aug. 26 and Monday, Aug. 29 and Tuesday, Aug. 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for children 8 to 13 at the Incorporated Village of Westbury's Sport Center, 346 Post Avenue.
