Legal Battle Against Westbury Library, Employees Comes to an End
After more than two years of legal proceedings, a lawsuit filed against the Westbury Memorial Public Library has come to an end. The lengthy legal battle was brought forth by Joan M. Boes, a former library employee, against several library employees and board trustees. According to the settlement agreement, the suit was resolved out of court "solely for the purpose of avoiding the burdens and expense of protracted litigation."

Westbury Students Participate in Community Center Visioning Process
North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jon Kaiman, Councilman Robert Troiano and Westbury Superintendent of Schools Constance Clark visited five schools within the Westbury School District to find out what students want for a new community center to be located in New Cassel. Students from the Park Avenue School, Drexel Avenue School, Powells Lane School, Dryden Street School and Westbury Middle School took part in a one day visioning project sponsored by the town to brainstorm and help design a Westbury/New Cassel community center.

WHS Varsity Badminton Teams Receives NYS Team Scholar-Athlete Award
Westbury High School Girls Varsity Badminton team recently received the New York State Team Scholar-Athlete Award for the spring 2005 season. The students on the team earned this recognition for maintaining a combined Grade Point Average above 90.
