Nassau County District Attorney Denis Dillon, the Nassau County Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) announced the culmination of a three month undercover investigation into gun trafficking from Alabama into Nassau County. Dillon stated that 25-year-old Victor Hernandez, a known MS-13 gang member from Carle Place, along with 30-year-old Hempstead resident Raul Alvarez-Aviles, an MS-13 associate, were arrested in connection with gun trafficking in Nassau County. Residents of the 15th Assembly District (A.D.) will go to the polls on Tuesday, May 24 to cast their vote in a special election. At this time, Republican Robert Walker and Democrat Kathleen Magin-Arecco will vie for the assembly seat, which has been vacated by Republican Assemblywoman Donna Ferrara. The Levittown New Yorkers Baseball Team is looking for high school graduates, college students and baseball players ages 18 and over to play in the summer and fall season. The team needs a few good players to fill open spots: pitcher, catcher, third-base, short stop and outfield. The team plays on Sundays at Levittown Memorial High School field.
