Flames Engulf Volante Place Home
On Sunday, April 3, a fire broke out at home on Volante Place in Westbury. The Westbury Fire Department responded with two trucks and mutual aid was provided by the East Meadow Fire Department. With strong winds blowing the flames from the home's second floor bedroom window, there was concern the fire would spread to the house next door. Westbury Fire Department Chief Joe Pascarella, along with Assistant Chiefs George Perrin and Patrick Cody, worked their crews at an accelerated pace to prevent the fire from spreading. The only damage suffered to the home next door was melted siding and no one was injured. As a standard procedure, the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating. Photo by Richard Gomez
