Westbury's Alexio Barboza Makes Broadway Debut
For the past six months, 10-year-old Alexio Barboza of Westbury has frequently visited the massive Toys 'R' Us in Times Square. On a windy Wednesday, dressed in a yellow and black jersey with matching scarf and hat, he strolled through the store and looked with fascination at each section as if it was a brand new experience. Along with his mother, Laura Carrington, they walked around until they reached the ramp to his favorite section, guarded by a Jurassic Park dinosaur that roars every few minutes. His mother affectionately calls it Úquot;the office.Úquot;

State Comptroller's Office Releases Results of Westbury Audit
An audit of the Westbury Union Free School District by the state comptroller's office found no fraud, but did find that some internal controls needed to be strengthened. As a result, the Westbury Union Free School District has strengthened its policies over spending for travel, meals and leave time.

Westbury's Varsity Wrestling Team Has Great Run Through Dual Meet Playoffs
Early in the wrestling season Westbury's Varsity Wrestling Team suffered a great loss when all-county wrestler Solly Ramone went down with a projected season-ending injury. At that point, few in the Westbury wrestling community thought the team would make much noise in the Dual Meet playoffs.
