The UNCCRC Block Captains, who are residents and leaders in the New Cassel community, arrived with brooms, rakes, shovels and lots of garbage bags to clean up the businesses that have not been maintained for so long. The Block Captains informed the business owners that this was not simply a courteous clean up, but rather an admonition that the business owners need to take better care of their properties and that any further lapse in care for the cleanliness of Prospect Avenue business would be met with severe consequences from the Town of North Hempstead. In the 13th Assembly District, Charles Lavine defeated Phillip Sciarillo, Sr. and current Assemblyman David Sidikman. Democrat Lavine received 32,545 votes while Republican and Conservative candidate Sciarillo received 17,983 votes and Independence and Working Families candidate Sidikman received 4,331 votes. The Westbury Boys Varsity Soccer Team has taken a 180-degree turn from 2003. Last year, the team finished 0-12-1, but for 2004, the current record is 13-1-1, finishing first in conference A4. FULL STORY
