The Westbury Republican Committee honored us on Sunday, July 11 at their annual summer breakfast held at the Chateau Briand on Old Country Road in Carle Place.
We love the Westbury community very much and rendering service to this best of all worlds community is a privilege. Sunday was an exhilarating day for us. The outpouring of good wishes and congratulations was overwhelming. We shared this distinguished honor with Legislator Richard Nicolello, a much respected and accomplished legislator.
When the Honorable Peter I. Cavallaro, executive leader of the Westbury Republican Committee and a Westbury Village trustee approached us and shared this much appreciated and unexpected news with us, we were astounded to hear that we had been chosen to receive the 2004 Community Service Award for our outstanding record of public service to the Westbury community. Our service to the Westbury community is a commitment we cherish. To get such high recognition from the Republican committee was and will be the highlight of our lives.
Many of our friends were in attendance and our invited friends, Drs. Arfa and Faroque Khan, Cathy and Al Handy, Vickie and Jack Laura, Jackie and Eric Beder, Emma Wright, Phyllis and Dr. DaCosta Hunte shared this memorable time with us. We received a profoundly worded plaque from Mr. Cavallaro, representing the Westbury Republican Committee and a proclamation from the Honorable Mayor of Village of Westbury Ernest Strada. Deputy Presiding Officer Roger Corbin was late in attendance but also presented a citation to us.
It was a day in our lives in which we will dearly cherish. We would like to thank all who participated and especially Mr. Cavallaro, the Republican committee and Mayor Strada.
