Carle Place Students Explain Need for Renovations, Upgrades
Residents of the Carle Place School District will take to the polls on April 19 to vote for or against a $10.9 million bond referendum for district-wide capital improvements. District officials as well as teachers and students state the bond is necessary to financially support essential health and safety, instruction, and security repairs and upgrades at its middle school/high school and two elementary schools, which are each about 50 years old.

Residents Briefed on Electric Generation Expansion Project at Mitchel Field
Trigen, hoping to build on more than a decade of good operations at the Nassau County Central Utility Plant (CUP), conducted an informational meeting to brief the community on its proposed addition of a 79.9 MW electric generating unit, to be co-located on the north side of the CUP in Mitchel Field in Garden City. The meeting, held March 31 at the Cradle of Aviation Museum, was attended by members of the Uniondale, Hempstead, East Meadow and Garden City communities.

CPHS's Boys Basketball Season Highlights
This season, the Frogs experienced some successes both on and off the court with a young team that was composed of three seniors, six juniors and three sophomores. The team enjoyed some great wins over Cold Spring Harbor, Locust Valley and Friends Academy, the Long Island 'C' Champions. The Frogs posted a 7-6 record in Conference B/C and finished in the middle of the pack.
