The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, March 9 to present its proposal for the cleanup of environmental contamination at the 123 Post Avenue Inactive Hazardous Waste Disposal Site. On Monday, Feb. 23, the Carle Place Board of Education approved a $10.9 million bond issue for district-wide capital improvements in three categories: health and safety, instruction and security. The bond will not be issued, however, until Carle Place citizens vote on it on April 19. FULL STORY
