Nearly 50 female sixth-grade students at Westbury Middle School (MS) have befriended the school's new "Best Friends" program, a national youth development and character-building curriculum for girls that promotes abstinence from sexual activity, smoking, and drug and alcohol abuse. Westbury MS is the second school in New York State to institute the program, which is facilitated by the Rising Star Bureau of the Nassau County District Attorney's Office.
