In response to the substantial increase in contributions to the New York State Pension Plan, Westbury Village Mayor Ernest Strada recently joined other elected officials from Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester counties to call for an immediate reform of the pension plan. On Dec. 19, Westbury Letter Carrier Philip Balsamo noticed a woman walking down Mirabelle Avenue as he delivered mail to a customer's house and thought it odd that a woman her age should be out on such a cold and blustery day.
