In the continuing effort to combat the on-line sexual exploitation of children, detectives from the Computer Crimes Section of the Suffolk County Police Department have arrested five men, including a 39-year-old from Westbury for allegedly soliciting children on line to engage in sex. FULL STORY

Alphonse J. Campbell, a 31-year resident of Westbury and Village of Westbury trustee, passed away on Dec. 8 from a heart attack caused by complications of advanced diabetes. Mr. Campbell, who was ill since October, was currently in rehab at a Glen Cove facility when his condition worsened. He would have celebrated his 69th birthday on Dec. 19. FULL STORY

For the third consecutive year, the Wheatley Varsity Boys Soccer Team will be hoisting a championship banner in the high school gym. Two years ago, Wheatley boys soccer was a finalist in the New York State championship game, and for the second year in a row, the team has won its Conference Title only to suffer heart-breaking losses in the Nassau County finals. Under head coach Bernie Hintz, who has coached varsity soccer at Wheatley for the past 32 years, the team posted an amazing overall record of 15-1-4. During Coach Hintz' tenure, this is only the second team to have suffered only one defeat. In league play, the team went undefeated. FULL STORY
