Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray is looking to maintain her position as town supervisor this November. Murray, appointed to the position earlier this year following the resignation of Rich Guardino, served as town clerk prior to filling the supervisor's seat. FULL STORY

Residents of the Westbury School District approved a $28 million interest free bond on Thursday, Oct. 16. The bond, which passed 1,040 to 534, will be used to financially support much-needed repairs and upgrades at the district's six buildings. FULL STORY
