Legislator Roger Corbin Seeks 5th Term
Nassau County Deputy Presiding Officer Roger Corbin (D-Westbury) recently announced that he will be seeking a fifth term as a Nassau County Legislator so that he may continue serving his constituents in the 2nd Legislative District and keep Nassau County moving forward. Legislator Corbin is currently serving his fourth term and has been an elected official for close to 10 years.

Barbara Patton, who demanded, "It's time for change" as she boldly announced her bid for Hempstead Town supervisor in May, has withdrawn from the race, citing, among other reasons, lack of financial support on the part of the Democratic Party, who endorsed her at their convention.

The 433 finishers (an eight percent increase over 2002), including virtually every single top woman runner from all of Long Island and representing every running local club, enjoyed amazing giveaways, perfect weather and an outstanding finish on the track at Farmingdale High School, at the 20th annual Vytra Health Plans Long Island Women's 5 Kilometer Run.
